Charley Langer- Smoothing it Out in this Symphony of Style

Meet Charley Langer
by: Merle E. Givens - Artistry Boulevard

Welcome, to this sax player with a style that changes in each melody he creates.  Listen and mellow out as you meet and take in Charley Langer, introducing his solo debut CD,  'Never the Same'.  By listening to his ever changing beats and movements in each of his melodies, I see why the title fits as it shows his many different avenues of jazz sound.

Denise Thimes - An Artisty Aria of Soulful Sound

Who is Denise Thimes?
By: Merle E. Givens - Artistry Boulevard

Denise Thimes is a local St. Louis jazz vocalist and pianist, I recently learned about, through a relative of mine.  And, I in my search for St. Louis Jazz artists find her sound to be a tonal tiffany of soul with a bluesy and catchy style.  She sings as if experiencing each song, as she puts her heart into the aria of her beautiful voice.

Experience the soulful sound of Denise Thimes singing at Harris Stowe University, show on YouTube video by DrDonwolff.

Animoto Art through a Video

Photo Collages Easy to Make
By: Merle E. Givens

Today I found an awesome way to create my own home videos for my pictures I want to share. I tried making my first video on their site at Animoto.com.  You can make free videos of 30 seconds long for your own personal use.

A great way to try it out this is and the experiences from seeing your photos come to life are so nice.  I just finished making my first video with this software and I put it on the site here down below the blog for you to see my results.  I am new to this so bear with my quality of my pictures.  I did not enhance my pictures but, it turned out looking great for what I had to use of my own stuff. Take a look and see what you think.

Thanks to seeing this information on AJGodinho’s page. http://www.squidoo.com/animoto-turns-pictures-into-music-videos

I have found a new way to share my photos and create something beautiful too.

An Art of Taste - CoffTea

What is CoffTea? – It is a coffee and tea drink.

One mistake in the morning; you had better be awake before you drink your coffee or tea. Or you will have CoffTea. It happened when I made this mistake while half asleep. I accidentally poured a teaspoon of instant coffee into my already brewed hot tea without thinking.

I looked at it and muttered ugh. But, I did not want to waste it so I decided to add sugar and try it out. It took away the bitterness of the coffee and still had the mildness of the tea. You would have to acquire a taste for it. That is my opinion though.
It might taste better if you mix it with your favorite flavored coffee and regular tea mix. Or maybe it won’t you can decide for yourself.

Here are some small tips I found about making a cup of CoffTea at Wikia.com

There is actually a drink called Yuan Yang in the Hong Kong area. They mix milk tea and coffee together for this unique drink. I found this on Wikipedia.

This drink must be full of anti-oxidants since both coffee and tea both have these in them. But, before drinking for these benefits make sure that it is good for you to drink on a regular basis and see what your physician says on this matter.*

Go try it yourself as an experiment and see what you think. Have fun exploring the art of new ways to make and drink coffee and tea.

*For added information about coffee for health, whether it is good or bad go to Mayo Clinic site to see what Dr. Donald Hensrud, M.D., a Mayo Clinic preventive medicine specialist has to say.

What Is It? Macro Photography Art

What is this?

Macro art is something I really get enjoyment out of doing.  Here is a close up of a picture I shot one day, trying to find a macro object to photograph.  The fun with macro and other close up photography is that you can take something and make it appear to be something that it is not. As I share these photos, I have so much fun seeing the reaction of others when they find out what the object really is.

What do you think the above close up photograph is?  You might be surprised when you find out what it actually is in reality.  It reminds me of modern art that you see today.  Go ahead and try guessing.  Please, let me know by your comments what you think this photo is.  I would love to hear your responses. I will post the results at the end of next week.

Have fun guessing what my photos is and see you next time. I will post results next Saturday. *

*April 9, 2011 update - The answer for the above photo is a cars headlight up close.
